Bringing passion, science, and personal care to tree health in the Twin Cities

Welcome to Canopy Tree Health!
How did we get started?

I’ve always been drawn to the outdoors and green growing things. While completing a degree in Biology and Plant Science, I wrote my capstone paper on environmentally responsible pest management practices (IPM). I started out my career working at a large greenhouse(Gertens greenhouse) as an assistant grower. I loved stepping out of the cold Minnesota winter and into a warm, humid space filled with plants and flowers. But what really captivated my attention as a grower were the diseases and pests that damaged the crops. My curiosity was piqued, and I began problem solving to prevent and cure these issues.

After spending half a year in Europe, I transitioned into the world of tree healthcare. I found that I loved the process of identifying and managing the pests and diseases that can affect and kill trees. In some ways, it felt a bit like detective work. Trying to discover who is killing Old Mr. Oak… Is it a hungry beetle? Or is it a fungal disease lurking deep inside the tree?

After sharpening my skills for a few years, I started my own business in 2022 and have built it from the ground up. It has been an amazing process and I’ve met so many great people along the way.

Although tree health is my passion, the thing that really motivates me is being able to meet new customers, build relationships, and help educate people about their trees. Trees and people are intertwined in so many ways. I have real emotional attachments to certain trees in my yard and my customers' yards, and seeing a tree die before its time makes my stomach sick. If you’ve read this far, you are probably someone who shares a connection with your trees and cares about their well-being! You’ve come to the right place. I would love to meet you and help you better understand your trees.
